Hi Patti, nice painting, I like the colors! I'm curious..I notice you paint in oil and acrylic, which do you like best? I use acrylic and tried oil a few weeks ago and it really did not give me a good impression. The slow drying time really gave me a hard time. Do you have suggestions for going from acrylics to oil?
Hi Karen thanks for your comment! Thats a really tough question to answer. I love both for different reasons, the jury is still out whether I love one more than the other. I am more "fearless" with acrylics - no question - because I know them better. My experience painting with acrylics is more fun loving and irreverent and playful. With oils I am more timid and controlled - slower too. There is a certain control I have with oils that are more difficult to get with acrylics. So it kind of boils down to - which do i have more fun at, and which one is more conducive to communicating what I am trying to say? I haven't answered that question yet, and don't know when or if I ever will. Its all still a wonderful learning experience... and I'm enjoying the process. Hope that helps! -Patti
