Corner Cafe

It's always challenging to make sense out of a crowd scene from a painting standpoint. All those little faces and figures, all that architecture. I chose this scene for exactly that reason, aiming to keep the lively quality but not get too caught up in small details. Waiter - another martini please!

Beautiful, I like the play of the red and blue in the background the repeated in the details with stronger hues.

REally excellent, Patti! I love the composition. Love how your eye fills in the detail. But you got so much into it in such a small space. Very very sweet.

Thanks Tonya! You must remember this little piece from the workshop, ah the good old days when the paint was flowing. Been teaching a lot, not painting too much tho other than quickie demos. I'm excited to get back into the studio now that my hubby made me a still life lighting box on a tripod! can't wait to do some eye-level paintings and dramatic angles! hope your well and enjoying the summer
