New York Public Library Oil on Gessoboard 12x12"
I realized that I still haven't posted all the paintings from the NYC plein air gig I did in August. The painting above is from my first day, totally freaked out by all those moving people, hiding out behind Fortitude's butt. It's very difficult to keep a low profile in this city. Originally all the angles of the library were pretty straight and perpendicular but then I decided to scrape it, push the perspective and give it some attitude. When in Rome...

Patti this is wonderful...love the variation of colors and you totally got the feel of moving people...you are a brave woman to do this project!
You really gave it some attitude, and I love it. Don't know how you can paint like you do with all the angular lines. Fantastic!!!
Nice piece Patti!
Thanks guys!! it was a great learning experience. the best part was that i lost my fear of the whole plein air in the city thing. basically no one in NY even pays attention to you. only in ny, right?
