Pink Mules



My poor husband. He buys me such hip shoes. Only to see them on canvas, as opposed to seeing them on my feet. He bought these at a punk/goth boutique called "Roadkill" in New Orleans. The owner is a friend of ours and gave us a good deal on them, as well as some black fishnets. Naturally, I was urged to wear them immediately. Trapesing around New Orleans in mules and fishnets is an interesting experience, one that I'm not compelled to repeat. Do men have any clue about the dichotomy between how these look and how they actually feel? (Does it matter?)

    great painting, and awesome shoes. It's too bad they are way more fun to paint than to wear, isn't it?
    The red underpainting really makes this one pop!

    It's funny you mention Peggy K. Roberts- I had just finished watching her "figure proportions" video just ten minutes ago.
    If you haven't seen her videos yet, beg, borrow or steal them- they are great.

    hey anne, i took a workshop with her last summer, it was great. I have all her videos but haven't yet watched them. there is a an issue of American Artist Drawing Fall 2010 that I just back ordered, about the "action line " in drawing figures. it was written by Jon deMartin, starts on p. 38 under Drawing Fundamentals and is titled "The Figure in Action: The Inner Axis & Surface Centerlines." Thought I would mention it, maybe you would find it interesting too. There is always something more to learn, right?
