Art and Fear

There is an excellent book by that title, I re-read it recently. If you are an artist, you could probably write on this topic too. The act of mark-making and the ideas we have about how those marks "should look" are something every artist struggles with.

There is also an understandable sense of fear present in art workshops.  I understand - I feel it too when I attend a painting workshop. Usually there is a fear of being out of ones league, not advanced or trained enough to justify attending... lack of familiarity with the materials, or the rigorous schedule, or even the logistics of painting plein air.

In addressing these concerns for my upcoming workshop in Venice, I wanted to shed light on some common questions that one might have.  Workshop Q & A's
