A Day at the Beach

"Beach Scene"  Acrylic  11x14
I've been painting beach scenes lately... that must mean I'm getting ready for winter to be over. I'm also getting ready to teach my "Bending Reality" color schemes workshop in North Carolina. You can see from the photo below, I bent the colors and composition quite a bit.

Beach Scene

"Beach Scene"  Acrylic  24x36" Click for more info

This was a commissioned painting. I was supplied reference material of all the elements that the client wanted included the photo. It's not exactly what I would have chosen, but rarely are commissions what I would do if left to my own ideas...on the other hand often it is a learning experience, on some level.

Girlfriends

I'm leaving today for Art Basel Miami, to take in the big art fair, as well as co-teach a workshop in Orlando. I did this painting way back in 2006 from a trip I took to Miami Beach. These two gals in front of me were having such a heart felt conversation. It was a deja vu moment, reminding me of how lucky I am to have such great girlfriends in my life, they make all the difference.
