Cup'l

I've heard it's good to paint in a series - like 2, 4 or 6 paintings of the same/similar subject, same size, same style, etc. so they all go together, and potentially could be bought together as a series. Another reason is that there is something nice about having a series; it looks cohesive, they each complement the whole, and it feels like you had an idea and explored it beyond the initial attempt. I felt that "Two Cups" needed a complimentary piece to go with it, so heres what I did today.
Cup'l
Acrylic on Canvas, 6x6" $100.

This is very nice Patti! I think you are right about the painting a series thing. It is a good practice to improve skills and one I need to do more of!

Thankyou :-) btw - I also forgot to mention that if you license your work to publishing companies they prefer work in a series - of at least two, preferable four images that work well together color-wise and subject wise... something to keep in mind...p

I love the big strokes and loose look to this one. I'm itchin' to try it too.

Go for it, Bonnie! Sometimes the faster I paint the better I like the piece. Tonight I'll be posting a 1/2 hr demo I did for my students today...more apples - the perfect subject for experimenting with the fast, loose and bold style.
